New Rochelle Heritage Homes Shooting: Two Plead Guilty to Weapons Charges; One Still Faces Murder as Alleged Gunman Missing From Records

WHITE PLAINS, NY (April 14, 2026) — Two of three men charged in the fatal Heritage Homes shooting in New Rochelle have pleaded guilty to weapons charges, while a third defendant continues to face a murder count, according to court records and prior reporting.

Court records show three defendants in the Heritage Homes case proceeding in Westchester County Court. A fourth defendant, Ali Mohammed, whom police identified as the alleged gunman and charged with second-degree murder, does not appear in publicly available eCourts records. The reason for his absence could not immediately be determined, and requests for comment have been sent to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and the New Rochelle Police Department.

The case stems from a Jan. 6, 2025, shooting on Rhoda Quash Lane at the Heritage Homes complex. New Rochelle police identified the victim as David Smith, 22, of Mount Vernon, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead, authorities said.

Marquis Williamson pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a firearm (PL 265.01-b), an E felony. A separate count of criminal possession of a loaded firearm (PL 265.03) was reduced to a misdemeanor and covered by the plea. Williamson is scheduled to be sentenced on April 21, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Westchester County Court.

Anthony Webster also pleaded guilty in the case. Court records show he pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a loaded firearm (PL 110-265.03), a D felony. His case is scheduled for a further court appearance on May 6, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Westchester County Court. Court records do not indicate a sentencing date.

Amiri Oneal continues to face a charge of second-degree murder (PL 125.25). His case remains pending, with a court appearance scheduled for April 14, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Westchester County Court.

Police previously said the shooting was believed to be targeted and stemmed from a personal dispute, and that the victim and suspects knew each other.
