Waugh was taken into custody and charged with murder, criminal use of weapon, use of firearm for felony, carrying a firearm without a permit, tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment 1st, and risk of injury.
On January 30, 2026, a jury found Waugh guilty of murder and carrying a pistol without a permit.
On April 10, 2026, Waugh was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
