Collin Lacaze Car Accident: Student at Alexandria Senior High, Collin Lacaze Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash

The Alexandria community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 16-year-old Collin Lacaze, a student at Alexandria Senior High, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Police say Collin and a 16-year-old female friend were standing on the right shoulder of Eddie Williams Avenue near Tulane Avenue when a southbound vehicle struck them and immediately fled the scene.

Both teenagers were rushed to Rapids Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Tragically, Collin succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The young female survived but was left with serious injuries.

The Alexandria Police Department is actively investigating the incident and seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver responsible.
