A quiet neighborhood in Gaston is in shock and mourning following a deadly stabbing early Friday morning that claimed the life of 22-year-old Gabrielle Marie Cribb.

According to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. on May 1, 2026, at a residence in the 100 block of Marshall Road. Authorities say Cribb was involved in an altercation at the home when she suffered multiple stab wounds during the confrontation.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and transported Cribb to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save her life. Despite those efforts, she was later pronounced dead.

Officials say an autopsy will be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston to help determine further details surrounding her injuries and assist investigators.
