State police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 17-year-old Hayden Castille of Branch on Saturday night in Acadia Parish, Louisiana.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop I, the crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Louisiana Highway 95 near Wikoff Cove Drive in the area of Church Point.
Investigators say Castille was operating a Honda ATV traveling northbound on La. 95 when an Audi approached from behind. For reasons still under investigation, authorities say the Audi struck the rear of the ATV, causing it to overturn and eject the teen rider. Troopers noted the ATV did not have its lights illuminated at the time of the crash.
Castille sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Audi was reportedly not properly restrained but sustained no injuries.
Louisiana State Police say the crash remains under investigation as they work to determine all contributing factors in the collision.
Authorities have not released any additional details at this time.
