13-YEAR-OLD KILLED, ANOTHER TEEN INJURED IN WEST OAK LANE SHOOTING

PHILADELPHIA โ€” A 13-year-old boy has died and another teenager was injured following a shooting Tuesday night in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia.
Police say the shooting occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on the 7100 block of North 19th Street, near a basketball court.
Officers arrived to find two victims:
Amir Akers, 13, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds
A 14-year-old boy shot in the legs
Both were transported to the hospital, where Amir was pronounced dead. The second teen is listed in stable condition.
Investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation during a basketball game. Numerous shell casings were recovered at the scene, suggesting multiple shooters may have been involved.
Family members describe Amir as a kind and loving child, as loved ones struggle to process the tragedy.
At this time:
No arrests have been made
The motive remains under investigation
Police continue to search for answers in what remains an active and ongoing investigation.
