The community is mourning the tragic loss of Krista Whitt, 30, of Paducah, who died Saturday night, March 28, 2026, in a devastating car accident in Columbus. The vehicle she was traveling in struck a ramp at Ingram Barge Company before plunging into the river.
Krista was one of three occupants in the vehicle; the other victims were Joshua Watson, 42, of Louisville, and Shranda Milan, 38, of Wingo. All three were tragically pronounced dead following the accident. Emergency responders, including a diver from McCracken County Emergency Management, worked to recover the vehicle and its occupants from the river.
Krista Whitt was known for her vibrant spirit, kindness, and warmth. Her sudden passing has left her family, friends, and the Paducah and Columbus communities in deep sorrow. Loved ones remember her for the joy, compassion, and care she brought into the lives of those around her.
