On a quiet afternoon just before 1:30 p.m., Omaha Police responded to a serious crash at 50th Street and Ames Avenue. A 2001 Ford Escape traveling eastbound on Ames crossed into the westbound lanes, colliding with a 2018 Subaru Outback before striking a wooden power pole. Inside the Ford were five unrestrained occupants, all of whom were rushed to Nebraska Medicine with life-threatening injuries. Despite the tireless efforts of medical teams, Felicia Warner, age 44, and Nyaguk Bel, age 30, later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The driver of the Subaru was thankfully uninjured. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

Beyond the tragic circumstances of that day, Felicia and Nyaguk were so much more than names in a report or victims of an accident. They were daughters, loved ones, friends—individuals whose lives carried meaning, laughter, struggles, dreams, and love.

Felicia Warner, at 44, carried with her a lifetime of experiences and memories shared with those closest to her. She was someone whose presence mattered, whose absence will be deeply felt in everyday moments—quiet conversations, shared smiles, and memories that now hold even greater weight. Those who knew Felicia will remember her not for how she died, but for how she lived and the impact she had on the lives around her.

Nyaguk Bel, only 30 years old, had so much life ahead of her. Her journey, though far too brief, was filled with purpose and connection. She leaves behind a legacy of love and remembrance that will live on through the people who cherished her. Her loss is especially painful, a reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is.

As their families grieve this unimaginable loss, the community stands alongside them in mourning. No words can ease the pain of losing someone so suddenly, but love, prayers, and shared remembrance can offer moments of comfort in the darkness.

We ask for continued thoughts and prayers for the loved ones of Felicia Warner and Nyaguk Bel, as well as for those still recovering from injuries sustained in this tragic crash. May their families find strength in one another, and may the memories of Felicia and Nyaguk be a source of light, love, and enduring remembrance.

Rest in peace, Felicia and Nyaguk. You are gone, but you will never be forgotten.
