According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers were called to the 8800 block of Greenwell Springs Road at approximately 12:45 p.m. on April 29, responding to reports of gunfire near 8844 Greenwell Springs Road, close to the intersection with Woodcrest Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered West Clark lying face down in a parking lot. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
