A devastating house fire in Clinton County on Sunday morning has left a community in deep mourning after a mother and her six children lost their lives.
The fire broke out around 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 2026, along Route 477 near Long Run Road in the Mill Hall area. Emergency crews responded quickly, but despite their efforts, the victims could not be saved.
Authorities confirmed the victims were members of the Stolzfus family. Sara Stolzfus died in the fire along with her six children, ranging in age from 2 to 12 years old. The tragedy has left the family’s father, David Stolzfus, grieving the unimaginable loss of his wife, children, home, and possessions in a single devastating event.
Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
