According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, emergency crews were called just after 1:30 p.m. to the area of East River Street and Nelson Drive following reports of gunfire and an automatic crash notification. When first responders arrived, they discovered Jamyuz Kanyi Bennett inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite urgent efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
