A late-night crash in Spencer County has left a community grieving after 37-year-old Amber Gogel of Dale was killed in a devastating two-vehicle collision on Monday evening, April 27, 2026.
According to Indiana State Police, troopers and local deputies responded around 8:20 p.m. to State Road 162 north of State Road 62, just west of Saint Meinrad, after reports of a serious head-on crash.
Investigators say Amber Gogel was driving a Chevy SUV northbound on S.R. 162 when her vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with another vehicle. The impact of the crash was severe.
