Graycen Vargo, a junior from Dallas, was competing in the RRAC Championships when he suddenly collapsed. Medical personnel responded immediately on the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away.
Vargo was a member of the university’s Eagles Cross Country and Track and Field teams and was widely respected within the athletic program. Teammates and coaches remember him for his strong work ethic, dedication to training, and consistent support for those around him. He was also known for his positive attitude and commitment to both individual and team success.
Beyond athletics, Graycen had recently been honored with the Eagle Excellence Award, an recognition highlighting his overall contributions to the university community, including leadership, character, and involvement off the track.
