Grove Police Chief Mark Morris confirmed that Robin Quinn Sharp died from gunshot wounds sustained during the violent attack at a residence on Apple Drive. Sharp was pronounced dead following the incident, which unfolded inside the home early Friday morning.

Police also identified the suspect as Terry Joe Hicks, who is currently being held in the Delaware County Jail as the investigation continues.

According to Chief Morris, the incident began when Hicks arrived at the Apple Drive residence and allegedly removed an air conditioning unit from the home. Investigators say Hicks then fired a gun through the opening created by the removed unit before entering the residence.

Authorities have not confirmed whether that initial gunshot struck Sharp. However, once inside the home, Hicks allegedly assaulted Sharp before firing the fatal shot that ultimately caused their death, police said.

Investigators noted that Hicks previously lived at the residence. Chief Morris stated that Hicks is the estranged boyfriend of the woman who currently resides at the home. However, officials have not clarified the exact relationship between Sharp and the woman living at the residence.

Law enforcement has not released additional details regarding what may have led to the violent confrontation, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation.

Grove Police emphasized that detectives are continuing to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and reconstruct the timeline of events that led to the fatal encounter. Authorities have also not yet announced formal charges, though KOAM has reached out to the Ottawa/Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office for further information.

Grove, located in Delaware County in northeastern Oklahoma near the Arkansas border, has been left reeling as investigators work to determine how a domestic-related situation escalated into deadly violence.

Police say the case remains ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available.
