A late-night shooting in Rome has left a 22-year-old man dead, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.

According to the Rome Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:42 a.m. to the Family Dollar located at 1417 N. Broad St. NE after multiple reports of gunfire were received through E-911 dispatch.

When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Chance Donaldson, who was also known as “TrenxhLiving.”

Investigators say evidence has been collected at the scene, and multiple leads are currently being pursued. Authorities believe several people were in the area at the time of the shooting and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident—or has photos or video—to come forward.

Police emphasized that even small details could help identify those responsible for the deadly shooting.
