The Chicago community is mourning the tragic and senseless loss of Savauhn Dillon, 27, who was fatally shot Tuesday night in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Congress Parkway. Authorities said Dillon was entering a residential building when three unknown individuals exited a nearby vehicle and approached him. The suspects reportedly followed him into the building’s vestibule, pulled out firearms, and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Dillon suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, but despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
