A 15-year-old boy has died following a shooting Sunday evening in James City County, according to authorities.
Officers with the James City County Police Department were dispatched at approximately 6:32 p.m. to the 100 block of Dehaven Court after receiving reports of gunshots.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located Noah Mekhi Cheeseman, 15, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Riverside Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police believe the shooting to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
