Authorities have identified Zoe Davis and Arianna Pearson as the two Kenwood Middle School students who tragically lost their lives in a devastating school bus crash during a field trip on March 27, 2026.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around noon along Highway 70 near the intersection of Cedar Grove Road in Carroll County. Investigators say the crash involved a Clarksville-Montgomery County School System bus, a dump truck operated by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV.

Emergency response efforts were extensive, with multiple agencies, including local sheriff’s offices and fire departments, responding to the scene. Due to the severity of the crash, nine medical helicopters were deployed to transport critically injured victims to trauma centers in Nashville and Memphis.

According to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County, 19 individuals were evaluated and later released. Four pediatric patients were transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Officials said two adults were inside the TDOT vehicle at the time of the crash, while one individual was traveling in the SUV. Authorities have not released detailed information about their conditions.

School officials confirmed that the families of all students and staff on board have been notified. In a statement, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System expressed profound sorrow, extending condolences to the families of Zoe Davis and Arianna Pearson while offering support to those affected. Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden described the tragedy as an “unimaginable loss” for the community.

Friends and loved ones remember Davis as a vibrant, intelligent, and humorous student, while Pearson has been described as a bright and positive presence who brought light to those around her.

The cause of the crash remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the collision. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area as emergency crews continue operations.

The tragedy has also renewed discussions surrounding school bus safety, including calls for enhanced protective measures such as seatbelt installation to better protect students during transport.
