DENVER — A man is dead after being shot Thursday afternoon in Denver.
Denver police posted just after 1:15 p.m. that officers were responding to a shooting in the 1100 block of 32nd Avenue. That’s near Arapahoe Street in the Five Points neighborhood near Mestizo-Curtis Park.
About 15 minutes later, police updated that the victim had died.
Denver police did not immediately say if a suspect or suspects had been identified or taken into custody.
About an hour after the shooting in Five Points, police posted that they were responding to another shooting about a mile away at 20th and Lawrence streets in downtown. The victim in that shooting was rushed to a hospital, police said. Their condition was not immediately released.
Police said preliminary information shows the shootings are not related.
