According to his mother, Therese Gracey, Jimmy was last seen at approximately 3:40 a.m. local time outside the popular Shoko nightclub. He had been out with friends before becoming separated. Family members say he never returned to the Airbnb where he was staying, located near Ronda de Sant Pere.

Jimmy Gracey, a junior originally from Elmhurst, is described as approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing around 175 pounds. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants—possibly joggers—and a distinctive gold chain with a rhinestone cross. Authorities have reportedly recovered his phone, but there has been no confirmed contact with him since his disappearance.

The case has drawn significant attention, with friends and fellow students working to raise awareness. Cavin McLay, president of the Theta Chi fraternity, said members have been actively spreading information and have reached out to officials, including members of the U.S. Senate and a representative from the White House, in hopes of accelerating search efforts.

In a statement, the University of Alabama confirmed it is in contact with Gracey’s family and is offering support during this difficult time. Meanwhile, local authorities in Barcelona are continuing their investigation.

Family members are urging anyone who may have seen Jimmy or has information about his whereabouts to come forward immediately. As concern grows, loved ones remain hopeful for his safe return.
