Logan Kruckenberg Anderson, now 21, was just 16 years old in January 2021 when his then-14-year-old girlfriend gave birth to their baby girl, Harper, at home in Albany, Wisconsin. Authorities say the couple had kept the pregnancy hidden from family and others.

According to court records and reports, the newborn was taken away from the home shortly after birth. Investigators later determined the child was left outside in freezing conditions and did not survive. The situation escalated further, leading to additional criminal actions that resulted in the infant’s death.

The baby was reported missing after the girlfriend’s father contacted authorities, prompting an investigation. Law enforcement officials say Kruckenberg Anderson later confessed to his role in the incident, providing details about what occurred.

Following a trial in Green County Circuit Court, a jury found him guilty on multiple counts on November 5, 2025, after a short period of deliberation.

A judge ultimately sentenced him to life in prison, bringing the case to a close in court, though the tragedy continues to weigh heavily on those involved.

Officials say the case highlights the importance of support systems, access to resources for young parents, and early intervention in situations involving vulnerable children.
