The community of Pocatello, Idaho, is mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Tyeson Iverson, 31, who died Friday afternoon after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 15 in Bannock County.
According to the Bannock County Coroner’s Office, Iverson was riding a 2021 Indian Motorcycle Chieftain northbound on Interstate 15 when the accident occurred at approximately 2:51 p.m. near the South Fifth Street exit at milepost 67 in south Pocatello.
Preliminary reports from Idaho State Police indicate Iverson lost control of the motorcycle for reasons that remain unknown. The motorcycle struck a guardrail before coming to rest on the right shoulder of the highway. Authorities confirmed Iverson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and he tragically died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.
The crash prompted the closure of northbound Interstate 15 for about two and a half hours as emergency crews worked at the scene and investigators began reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner expressed sympathy for those affected by the loss, sharing heartfelt condolences for Iverson’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Several agencies assisted in responding to the crash, including the Pocatello Fire Department, Pocatello Police Department, Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Bannock County Search and Rescue, Bannock County Coroner’s Office, and the Idaho Transportation Department.
As news of the tragedy spreads, friends, family members, and neighbors in Pocatello, Idaho, are remembering Iverson and offering support to his loved ones while grieving a life lost far too soon.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
