Celina police apprehended a 25-year-old man early Saturday morning following a reckless and dangerous driving spree through the downtown area. The incident began around 2:43 a.m. on March 14, 2026, when Sergeant Dave Powell observed a gray 2018 Nissan Altima fail to stop at a red light on E. Fayette Street at the intersection of S. Main Street.

When Sgt. Powell attempted a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as Trenton Wilson, fled the scene, initiating a short but chaotic pursuit through Celina streets. The vehicle traveled north on S. Walnut Street before turning east into an alley in the 100 block and then crossing S. Main Street. Along the way, Wilson drove directly through the patio area adjacent to Brew Nation, destroying outdoor furniture and a bicycle rack.
Wilson continued his erratic path through multiple alleys before arriving at his residence at 313 E. Livingston Street, where officers safely took him into custody. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident despite the significant property damage caused.
During the investigation, Wilson made a startling comment, reportedly laughing and stating, “I pulled some GTA [expletive] tonight, didn’t I?” referencing the popular video game Grand Theft Auto, known for its reckless driving and police pursuits.
A chemical breath test later revealed Wilson’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at 0.228, nearly three times the legal limit, confirming that alcohol played a significant role in the dangerous behavior.
Authorities have emphasized the serious risks posed by impaired and reckless driving and praised the quick actions of law enforcement for preventing potential injuries. Wilson now faces charges related to driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, and property damage.
