According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of Seven Valleys Road in North Codorus Township. Authorities reported that Gross was driving a Ford F-150 northbound when the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene and found the tractor-trailer engulfed in flames upon arrival. Despite the efforts of first responders, Gross was pronounced dead at the scene by a York County deputy coroner.

Investigators said the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 55-year-old man from Ohio, told police he had been traveling to Shrewsbury to pick up a load of eggs at the time of the collision. Officials stated that the truck driver and his trucking company have been cooperative with authorities during the investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Northern York County Regional Police Department.
