According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers and Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded just after 2:30 a.m. to the 5600 block of Southwest Archer Road, near Southwest 56th Terrace. Cole was traveling westbound in the left lane when he lost control of his motorcycle, was thrown from the vehicle, and collided with a westbound tanker truck driven by a 44-year-old man. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The westbound lanes of Southwest Archer Road were temporarily closed but have since reopened while troopers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
