JahnNell Lynn Shofner Obituary- Death : JahnNell Lynn Shofner, age 51, of Sparland, Illinois, passed away on March 3, 2026, at Carle Methodist Hospital, surrounded by loved ones after a life dedicated to service, faith, and family. Born on August 19, 1974, in Spring Valley, JahnNell lived a life marked by compassion, devotion, and joy.
A proud graduate of Henry‑Senachwine High School, JahnNell went on to pursue nursing, earning both her Associate and Bachelor’s degrees and serving more than 20 years in healthcare. She worked faithfully at Methodist Medical Center and local nursing homes, bringing comfort, dignity, and compassion to every patient she cared for. Her calling to nursing was more than a career—it was her ministry.
JahnNell’s love for her faith was central to her life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and attended Bible study at Chillicothe Bible Church, drawing strength and comfort from her relationship with her Lord and Savior.
Above all, JahnNell treasured her family. She married the love of her life, Randy Shofner, on May 31, 1997, and together they built a home filled with love and laughter. She was the devoted mother of her son, Michael Davis, and daughter, Miranda (Dakota) Massey‑Schilling, who were her greatest pride and joy. JahnNell was also cherished by her parents, Dan and Susan Davis, and her siblings, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those who knew JahnNell remember her radiant smile, contagious laughter, and unwavering faith. Her life touched countless others through her caregiving, friendship, and joyful spirit. Although her passing leaves a profound void, her legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Lenz Memorial Home, with visitation one hour prior. A private family burial will take place later at Salem Lutheran Cemetery #2.
