Michael Mingey Lancaster Kentucky Death, Obituary: Michael Mingey age 27, has Died in Boyle County Crash Involving Sheriff’s Patrol Vehicle

The Lancaster community is mourning the tragic loss of 27-year-old Michael Mingey, who died Tuesday night following a crash in Boyle County involving a patrol vehicle from the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Kentucky State Police, the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of US-127 and West Shelby Street. Preliminary reports indicate that a deputy was traveling northbound on US-127 and attempting to make a left turn onto West Shelby Street when Mingey, who was driving southbound, allegedly disregarded a traffic control device and struck the patrol cruiser.

Emergency responders transported Mingey to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, he later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.

The deputy involved in the accident was also taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

As the investigation remains ongoing, authorities are working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Meanwhile, family, friends, and residents in Lancaster and surrounding communities are grieving the sudden loss of Michael Mingey, whose life was tragically cut short at just 27 years old.
