Proactive Support for Veteran Safety: Fall River Offers Free Firearm Safety Equipment to Combat Suicide Risk and Promote Secure Storage

The Fall River Department of Veterans Services is offering free firearm safety equipment to eligible Fall River veterans as part of an important initiative to promote suicide prevention, secure storage, and family safety.
In partnership with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services, the program provides items including SnapSafe Lock Boxes, Regal Trigger Locks, and Regal Cable Locks. These tools help limit immediate access to firearms during times of crisis, supporting veteran well-being and household security.
This is a walk-in, first-come, first-served distribution available only to Fall River veterans (proof of service required). Pick up your free equipment at One Government Center, Room 410, during business hours: Monday–Thursday 9 AM–3 PM and Friday 9 AM–2 PM. The program began on February 19, 2026, and continues while supplies last.
