Driver Accused of Running Over Deceased Man at Active Crash Scene
On February 27, 2026, deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal pedestrian crash near State Highway 211 in San Antonio, Texas.
Investigators said a 61-year-old man was walking along the roadway when a vehicle passed by and clipped him with its side mirror, causing him to fall. Moments later, a second vehicle struck the man, killing him. Both drivers remained at the scene as deputies established barricades and secured the area.
While authorities were investigating the fatal crash, deputies say a third driver bypassed the barricades and entered the restricted scene.
26-year-old Tionne Spears allegedly drove around the barriers and ran over the deceased man while he was lying in the roadway.
Deputies said Spears was found in possession of khat, an illegal plant known for its stimulant-like effects. She was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, abuse of a corpse, and possession.
The investigation remains ongoing.
