Mother of Missing Alabama Toddler Seeks Reduction of $1 Million Cash Bond
On February 16, 2026 at approximately 3:10 a.m., police were notified that a child was missing from a residence in Enterprise, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers were told that 2-year-old Genesis Nova Reid was not inside the home and that a door to the residence had been found open.
As the investigation progressed, detectives conducted multiple interviews and later determined that Genesis had not been seen in several weeks prior to being reported missing.
On February 17, 2026, 33-year-old Adrienne Reid, the child’s mother, was arrested and charged with providing false information to law enforcement officers in connection with the disappearance. She has remained held at the Coffee County Jail since her arrest.
On February 24, 2026, Reid’s attorney filed a motion requesting that her $1 million cash bond be reduced, arguing the amount is excessive and that Reid is not a flight risk or a danger to the community. A bond reduction hearing has been scheduled for April 20.
Coffee County District Judge Josh Wilson set the bond after hearing testimony from an Enterprise police detective regarding the circumstances of the case. Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox stated that prosecutors argued Reid is the only known suspect in Genesis’ disappearance and alleged she has hidden or destroyed evidence and would be a flight risk if released.
Prosecutors also requested that if Reid is released on bond, she be placed on GPS monitoring, required to submit to drug testing, check in daily at the Enterprise Police Department, and be prohibited from leaving Coffee County.
Multiple agencies, including the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals Service, continue assisting in the search for Genesis. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Enterprise Police Department.
