7-Year-Old Girl Killed After Gunfire Erupts at Atlanta Home; Suspect at Large
On February 24, 2026, at approximately 9:49 p.m., Atlanta police responded to reports of shots fired into a home in the 2200 block of Tiger Flowers Drive NW in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon arrival, officers found a 44-year-old woman and her daughter suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid and transported the child directly to Grady Memorial Hospital due to delays in ambulance response. Despite their efforts, she later died from her injuries.
The victim was identified as 7-year-old Zoey Price.
Zoey’s mother remains hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Atlanta Police Chief Darren Schierbaum said investigators believe the shooting was the culmination of a dispute between two individuals that occurred roughly 30 minutes before the gunfire. Authorities do not believe the incident was domestic in nature or that the suspect is a family member.
Investigators believe an individual came to the residence and opened fire into the home before fleeing the scene.
“You know who you are,” Schierbaum said during a press conference. “If you’re watching this broadcast, turn yourself in, because we are going to come to your house, we are going to the restaurant, and we’re going to take you into custody.”
Police say they are actively pursuing strong leads and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
