A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Macon, authorities confirmed.
According to Leon Jones, the incident occurred around 7:24 p.m. in the 1400 block of Pio Nono Avenue near the intersection of Montpelier Avenue and Pio Nono.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies arrived at the scene and found 36-year-old Teairka Brown unresponsive. Investigators say Brown had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the roadway. The motorist remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Emergency medical personnel responded and attempted lifesaving measures, but Brown succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Lonnie Miley.
