Authorities have charged a 26-year-old woman with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal crash early Wednesday morning that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man.
According to the Alamo Police Department, officers responded around 2:30 a.m. to a report of an auto-pedestrian crash in the 1000 block of Sioux Road. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified as Elian Ramses Ramirez, with severe head trauma. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers located a gray 2022 Toyota Camry at the intersection of South Tower Road and Ridge Road. Police identified the driver as Paola Monserrat Reyes, 26, and determined she was intoxicated at the time of the crash. An inspection of the vehicle showed damage consistent with an auto-pedestrian collision.
Reyes has been charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. The case remains under investigation by Alamo police.
