The Delaware State Police have identified 19-year-old Unique Williams of Newark, Delaware as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred Friday night on Interstate 95 near Marsh Road in Wilmington, Delaware.
According to investigators, the crash happened at approximately 8:55 p.m. when a Chrysler 200 traveling on I-95 crossed the center grass median and entered the northbound lanes. The vehicle then collided head-on with a Volvo tractor-trailer that was hauling three vehicles.
Williams was ejected from the Chrysler during the collision. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 34-year-old man from New York, was also taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Northbound lanes of I-95 near Marsh Road were closed for about six hours while first responders cleared the scene and investigators processed evidence.
