A significant law enforcement and emergency response unfolded Sunday afternoon at Maplewood Mall following reports of a shooting that left three people injured.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the mall after reports that multiple individuals had been shot inside the shopping center. When authorities arrived, they located three people suffering from injuries. Their conditions have not yet been publicly disclosed.
More than a dozen police squads were observed parked outside the mall’s southeast entrance near the JCPenney store. A fire truck and ambulance were also on scene, underscoring the scale of the emergency response.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as shoppers were quickly ushered away from the area while officers secured the perimeter. Portions of the mall were effectively shut down as police worked to assess the situation and ensure there was no ongoing threat.
Authorities have not yet released information about a suspect or whether anyone has been taken into custody. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
