The sheriff’s office responded just before 12:30 p.m. to a home on Fallcrest Circle in the gated Amberlea neighborhood near Proctor and McIntosh roads.
During a news conference, Public Information Officer Matt Binkley said multiple people were found dead, but did not specify how many people were killed and could not immediately provide their identities.
There are no suspects in custody.
Brinkley said a weapon was recovered at the scene during the investigation. Helicopters were seen flying overhead as investigators continue to collect evidence.
According to the sheriff’s office, there have been two prior 911 calls for service at this address. Deputies did not share the nature of those calls or when they were made. The 911 call in this shooting came from a neighbor in the Amberlea subdivision.
Deputies say there is no threat to the public, but are asking people to avoid the area as they continue to investigate.
