Bank of America Shooting CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a homicide near a Bank of America branch in northwest Charlotte, where a heavy law enforcement presence was reported behind the bank on Callabridge Court shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday, authorities said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to the scene behind the Bank of America off Mount Holly-Huntersville Road after calls came in reporting shots fired and a person down on the ground, officials said. One individual was later confirmed dead at the scene as detectives opened a homicide investigation.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots before seeing police secure the location. A vehicle seen leaving the parking lot shortly afterward was noted by bystanders as officers worked to preserve evidence and gather information.
Police have not released the identity of the victim or provided details on any suspect at this time, and it remains unclear what led up to the shooting. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact CMPD as the investigation continues.
This incident follows other recent shooting investigations in the Charlotte area as law enforcement continues efforts to address gun violence, though authorities have not yet linked the cases.
