LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police have announced the arrest of a third suspect, a 17-year-old, in connection with the December 20 murder of Milton “MJ” Richie Jr., marking another significant development in the ongoing investigation.
Police say MJ was shot multiple times and found outside a vehicle on Fordhaven Road in the PRP area, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the killing involved multiple suspects and have described it as a planned “revenge killing,” alleging that MJ was lured to the location before the shooting occurred.
The newly announced arrest follows earlier charges filed against two other teenagers, underscoring investigators’ claims that the crime was carried out by a group rather than a lone suspect. Due to the latest suspect’s age, authorities have not released identifying details.
In a statement released after the arrest, MJ’s family expressed appreciation for detectives’ continued work while acknowledging that arrests cannot heal their loss:
“This arrest brings us one step closer to accountability, but it does not ease the loss of our son.”
Police say the investigation remains active, and additional charges or arrests are possible as the case continues to move through the court system.
Community members and loved ones continue to honor MJ’s memory while calling for justice, accountability, and an end to the violence that claimed his life.
