19-Year-Old Ky-Mari Bowman Fatally Shot in Capitol Heights; Prince George’s County Police Investigating

On February 4, 2026 around 3:20 p.m., Prince George’s County officers responded to the 500 block of Abel Avenue in Capitol Heights, Maryland for a shooting. Upon arrival, they found , of a young man outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The victim was identified as 19-year-old Ky-Mari Bowman.
Investigators are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
