This is Jack Fleischaker, Who DIES AFTER FALL FROM FRATERNITY HOUSE WINDOW
MANHATTAN, Kan. — A 19-year-old Kansas State University freshman has died after falling from a fraternity house window just weeks before the end of the semester, authorities confirmed.
Jack Fleischaker fell from a second-floor window at the Sigma Chi house on campus around 3:15 a.m. on April 25, according to the Riley County Police Department.
He was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but succumbed to his injuries three days later.
Investigators say they are still working to determine exactly how the fall occurred, but have indicated that foul play is not suspected.
A spokesperson for Sigma Chi described the incident as a tragic accident. “This was a heartbreaking accident, and there is no indication that anyone is at fault,” the fraternity said in a statement, adding that support services are being provided to members of the chapter.
University officials also said they are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident and have offered counseling and support resources to students and those affected.
Fleischaker, a native of Overland Park, was studying accounting and finance and was an active member of the fraternity community.
Friends and family say the loss is especially devastating, noting the family previously endured tragedy when Fleischaker’s sister, Natalie, died from a brain tumor more than a decade ago.
In the days following the fall, hundreds gathered at the hospital to say their goodbyes.
Fleischaker was an organ donor, and his family hopes his final act will help save the lives of others.
I have a son his same age and can’t imagine this happening to him. Please keep Jack’s family in your prayers as they cope with this devastating loss. 😢🙏🏼
