Authorities in Mobile have announced the arrest of a suspect in a tragic case that has shaken the local community. More than a week after a mother and her two children were found dead in their home, 54-year-old William Graham Oliver has been charged with eight counts of capital murder.
According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Oliver is accused in the deaths of 46-year-old Lisa Fields and her two children: 17-year-old Keziah Luker, who was pregnant, and 12-year-old Thomas Cordelle Jr. The charges against him include one count of capital murder involving two or more victims, four counts of capital murder during the course of a burglary, two counts involving the murder of a child under 14, and one count of capital murder committed in the presence of a child.
Sheriff Paul Burch addressed the emotional weight of the case, noting the profound impact when children are among the victims—particularly given that one of the victims was expecting a child.
The victims were discovered on April 20 inside their home in Wilmer, each located in a different room. Investigators reported that all three had their hands bound behind their backs with zip ties or similar restraints. Authorities say Lisa Fields suffered fatal stab wounds and a cut to her throat. Keziah Luker was shot, while her younger brother, Thomas, also died from a cut to the throat.
A one-year-old child, identified as Luker’s daughter, was found unharmed inside the home.
Investigators believe Oliver had known the family for a significant period and was present at the residence on the evening of April 19. Officials described the timeline as tight, with what they called strong circumstantial evidence linking him to the crime.
