Two people were found dead inside their home south of Juliaetta on Thursday afternoon, according to the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say deputies were called to a residence along State Highway 3 around 4:00 p.m. for a welfare check after a reporting party requested a check on the residents, stating they had not heard from them in some time.
When deputies arrived, they discovered 66-year-old Kent Rotchy and 65-year-old Krysta Rotchy deceased inside the home.
The sheriff’s office said there is currently no evidence indicating that anyone else was present or involved in the deaths. Officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.
The case remains under active investigation, and authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
The Latah County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Moscow Police Department and the Idaho State Police for their assistance in the response and investigation. Officials also expressed appreciation to the public for their patience as the case continues to be reviewed.
