A shooting in Breaux Bridge early Thursday morning has left a 17-year-old dead and two others injured, according to authorities.
Officials say the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Valsin Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately called for emergency medical assistance.
One of the victims, identified as 17-year-old Joseph Jr., was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. His passing has left family, friends, and the community in deep shock, as they now grieve the loss of a life taken far too soon.
Two additional individuals were also injured in the shooting. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the severity of their conditions.
