Police are investigating a shooting that left at least one person dead Wednesday afternoon in the Admiral Oaks Apartments area of Annapolis, authorities said.

Emergency responders were dispatched around 4:40 p.m. on February 4, 2026, following reports of a gunshot victim in the area of Captain Circle and Admiral Drive. Initial radio traffic identified one reported patient, a man in his late 20s, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back.

Due to the severity of the injuries, Maryland State Police Med Flight was requested, and Trooper 2 was dispatched to transport the victim to a nearby trauma center.

As the situation developed, police activity expanded throughout the 400 block of Captain Circle, with authorities reporting the possibility of multiple victims found. Officials warned of an extended crime scene as investigators worked to secure the area and gather information.
