According to the Titusville Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:36 a.m. on April 28 to the intersection of North Franklin Street and Union Street following reports of a serious wreck. When first responders arrived, they discovered a Chevy Trailblazer overturned on its roof, showing severe front-end damage. The vehicle was also partially engulfed in flames, creating a devastating scene in the early morning darkness.

Authorities identified the driver as Dustin Dingle, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Titusville Fire Department responded quickly and was able to extinguish the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further and reducing additional danger at the crash site.

Investigators believe the SUV left the roadway and struck a tree, triggering the rollover. Surveillance footage from nearby cameras reportedly captured the Trailblazer traveling northbound on Franklin Street at a high rate of speed just moments before impact, suggesting the crash happened with sudden and overwhelming force.

As the investigation continues, officials have not yet released further details. Authorities are still working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the wreck, including whether speed, roadway conditions, or other contributing factors played a role.

Dustin Dingle’s sudden passing has left those who knew him mourning a life lost far too soon, as the Union City and Titusville communities reflect on a tragedy that unfolded in just seconds but will be felt for a lifetime.

The crash remains under investigation.
