Shooting Investigation Underway After 20-Year-Old Found Injured at Rock Island Hospital
Authorities in Rock Island are actively investigating a shooting incident after a 20-year-old man arrived at UnityPoint Trinity Hospital early Sunday morning with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the hospital around 4:16 a.m. on April 26, 2026, after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they learned the individual had been dropped off by a private vehicle that left the scene before authorities could gather information. Notably, no 911 calls were made prior to the victim’s arrival, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim sustained several serious injuries but is expected to survive, according to initial reports.
As the investigation progressed, officers were able to locate the original crime scene, which was traced back to a social gathering at Positive Brothers United, located at 3704 9th Street. Detectives believe the shooting occurred during the event, though details about what led to the violence remain unclear.
Police have confirmed that no other individuals were reported injured, and as of now, no suspects have been taken into custody.
