The Columbus community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Lakesha Marbury, 43, who tragically passed away early Thursday morning following a two-vehicle crash in the Blacklick area of Franklin County, Ohio. Her sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones in deep grief as they try to process an unimaginable loss.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 5:51 a.m. at the intersection of Havens Corners Road and North Waggoner Road. Sheriff Dallas Baldwin reported that a black Acura TLX was traveling eastbound on Havens Corners Road while a black Honda Pilot was traveling northbound on North Waggoner Road when the Honda struck the Acura in the intersection.
The impact sent both vehicles off the northwest side of the roadway. Authorities said the Acura struck a utility pole, breaking it, and the pole subsequently fell onto the Honda, bringing down live power lines across the scene. Emergency responders from Jefferson Township arrived quickly to assist, while utility crews worked to secure the area and shut down the hazardous electrical lines.
The driver of the Acura, the sole occupant of that vehicle, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Honda, also the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:55 a.m. by medical personnel.
As investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, authorities say the incident remains under active review by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, no additional details have been released regarding contributing factors.
