Police say the crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026, along Colonel Jameson Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of a motorcycle crash. When they arrived, they located Jared Brundage, 20, of Culpeper, who had been critically injured in the collision.

Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that Brundage was traveling westbound when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle. Officials say the bike struck a curb, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle, after which he collided with a light pole.

Emergency personnel quickly responded to the scene and immediately began life-saving efforts in an attempt to stabilize him. Brundage was then transported to UVA Culpeper Hospital, where medical staff continued treatment. Despite those efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.

The crash prompted a full response from the Culpeper Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team, which is now leading the investigation. Officers spent several hours documenting the scene, collecting evidence, and working to reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.

At this time, authorities have not released additional details regarding what may have caused Brundage to lose control, including whether speed, road conditions, or other factors played a role. Officials say the investigation remains active and ongoing as they continue to piece together what happened in the moments before the crash.
