According to MSHP, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) to investigate a reported double homicide at a residence near the intersection of Missouri Highway 46 and Route PP, north of Skidmore.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, officers located two female victims deceased inside a residence from apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities also located a person of interest at the scene, who was taken into custody by the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the victims has been identified as Liberty Ann Moore. Officials said investigators are still working to confirm the identity of the second victim and notify next of kin.

On April 19, 2026, DDCC investigators submitted a probable cause statement to Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Tina Deiter. As a result, 20-year-old Keevin J. Maupin of Skidmore, Missouri, has been formally charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. He is currently being held in the Nodaway County Jail without bond.

Authorities emphasized that these charges are allegations at this stage and do not determine guilt. The suspect is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law.

Officials also confirmed that investigators believe there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact MSHP Troop H at 816-387-2345.
