The Ladson, South Carolina, community is mourning deeply following the tragic and sudden loss of 24-year-old Oakley Meador, who lost his life in a devastating motorcycle crash in Charleston on Monday afternoon.
According to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office, Meador was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:13 p.m. following a single-vehicle motorcycle collision near 511 Meeting Street. Authorities confirmed the crash occurred on the I-26 westbound ramp near the Septima P. Clark Parkway (the Crosstown).
Investigators say Meador was traveling on a motorcycle when he lost control while on the ramp, striking a barrier wall. The impact caused him to be thrown from the overpass, falling into a parking lot below. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
